핀란드 알토대학교 스타트업 대표단 “Aaltoes”, 블리스바인벤처스 방문
한국 스타트업 생태계에 대한 이해증진과 교류확대의 일환으로 방한한 핀란드 알토대 스타트업 대표단(11명),
알토이에스(Aaltoes, Aalto Entrepreneurship Society)는 지난 2023년 5월 30일에 오전 적극투자형 액셀러레이터인
블리스바인벤처스(이하, 블리스바인)를 방문하였다. 이번 방문은 알토이에스측의 요청으로 이루어졌다.
블리스바인 형경진 대표와 승우진 이사, 그리고 심사역들은 용산 드래곤시티 친타마니 회의실에서
알토이에스 대표단을 접견하여 약 100분간 블리스바인의 투자 철학과 투자 포트폴리오를 소개하고,
한국 벤처캐피탈 생태계와 특성, 투자동향 등 폭넓은 주제에 대해 토론하는 시간을 가졌다.
해당 토론에는 블리스바인의 글로벌 멘토이자 주한 유럽상공회의소 부의장인 핀란드 출신의
Per Stenius 박사가 동석하여 지난 13년간의 한국에서의 비즈니스 경험을 바탕으로
형경진 대표의 발언에 부연설명을 제공하여 보다 더 유익한 교류의 시간이 되도록 안배하였다.
이 자리에서 형경진 대표는 스타트업의 성장을 위한 핵심 가치로 확장성(Scalability)을 강조하며,
블리스바인이 투자한 스타트업의 글로벌 확장을 지원하기 위한 해외 기관들과의 협업 현황과 향후 전략에 대해서도 언급하였다.
또한, 한국 시장에 진출하는 해외 스타트업들이 주의해야 할 점에 관한 질문에는, 한국의 근로 문화와 소비자들에 대한 이해,

마지막으로, 형경진 대표는 “극소수의 우수한 기술기업은 물론이고,
평균 이상의 기술 또는 아이디어를 가진 기업들도 글로벌시장 진출을 통해 Scale-up을 도모할 수 있다”고 강조했다.

세계 최대의 해커톤 중 하나인 Junction을 설립하는데 주요한 역할을 하는 등, 북유럽 스타트업 시장에서 주요 플레이어 중 하나로 평가받고 있다.
블리스바인 팀과 Aaltoes 대표단은 이번 방문을 계기로 한국과 핀란드의 스타트업 생태계의 상호 협력이 더욱 활성화되기를 기대하고 있다.
As part of efforts to strengthen mutual understanding and expand collaboration within the Korean startup ecosystem,
a delegation of 11 representatives from Aalto University's startup community, Aalto Entrepreneurship Society (Aaltoes) visited Blissvine Ventures,
an active investment-focused accelerator, during their recent visit to Korea on May 30, 2023. The visit was initiated at the request of Aaltoes, with the aim of fostering closer ties between the two innovation ecosystems.
In a meeting held at the Cintamani Conference Room in Yongsan Dragon City,
Blissvine's CEO, Hyung Kyung-jin, Executive Director Seung Woo-jin, and the Blissvine team engaged in a productive discussion with the Aaltoes delegation,
delving into various topics for approximately 100 minutes. The discussion encompassed Blissvine's investment philosophy, portfolio,
and a wide range of subjects related to the distinct characteristics and investment trends within the Korean venture capital ecosystem.
Accompanying the discussion was Dr. Per Stenius, a global mentor at Blissvine and Vice Chairperson of the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea.
Leveraging his extensive 13-year business experience in Korea, Dr. Stenius provided valuable insights and supplementary explanations to augment Mr. Hyung’s remarks, enriching the exchange of ideas.
During the session, Mr. Hyung emphasized scalability as a pivotal value for startup growth.
He also discussed Blissvine's collaborations with international institutions to support the global expansion of their invested startups.
Addressing a question about considerations for foreign startups entering the Korean market, Mr. Hyung stressed the significance of understanding Korean work culture, consumer preferences, and effective communication.
He underscored the essential role of reliable Korean partners for successful navigation of these aspects.
Concluding the session, Mr. Hyung emphasized, "Not only exceptional technology enterprises but also companies with above-average technology or ideas can achieve scale-up through global market entry."
Aaltoes, composed of Aalto University students, holds a prominent position in the startup community and has played a significant role in establishing major tech conferences like Slush and one of the world's largest hackathons, Junction.
It is widely acknowledged as a key player in the Nordic startup market.
Following this visit, both the Blissvine team and the Aaltoes delegation express their anticipation for increased collaboration and activation of the startup ecosystems in Korea and Finland.
